We had a small Silver Birch and Leyland Cypress to reduce this morning in Littleover. This job was a little tricky as the drag to the chipper was through a conservatory and garage so much care was taken not to damage anything. The garden also had many ornamental obstacles, plant pots, a shed, lights, etc. Fortunately nothing was broken during the job and the customer was very happy to have his trees reduce to the height he wanted.
The height of Leyland Cypress was reduced by removing a section of the inside canopy, but we decided to leave the frontal section untouched, as the natural upwards growth hides the main stem cut point and we think it keeps the tree looking natural.
Tree Species – Silver Birch (Betula pendula), Leyland Cypress (Cupressocyparis leylandii)
Location – Littleover, Derby
