Hedge Trimming and Shaping
The majority of our hedge trimming is undertaken annually either once or twice a year. Growth rates vary depending on species.
Leyland Cypress (Cupressus × leylandii) Twice a year
Privet (Ligustrum ovalifolium) Twice/three times a year
Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus) Twice a year
Box (Buxus sempervirens) Twice a year
Bay Leaf (Laurus nobilis) Once/twice a year
Beech (Fagus sylvatica) Once a year
Yew (Taxus baccata) Once a year
Holly (Ilex aquifolium) Once a year
Hedge Reduction (Chainsaw Territory)
Hedges that are wanting to be reduced in height or width to a point the thickness of the stems become to large for hedge trimmers. Once again this varies with species with what we can do as some species do not recover when their lateral growth has been cut far back. We can give advise further during the quote.
